Star Kids, our vibrant kindergarten in Penang, sparks children’s natural curiosity while building strong academic and social foundations. Guided by the British EYFS curriculum and specialist teachers, students learn through play in a warm, supportive setting. With a focus on English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin, children grow into confident, multilingual learners.
Students follow the EYFS, part of the English National Curriculum, engaging in play-based learning that builds solid academic foundations while nurturing natural curiosity and a love for discovery.
Students master English while developing strong Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin skills through immersive daily practice and Cambridge English for Young Learners.

At our kindergarten in Bayan Lepas, children learn through play in a nurturing, language-rich environment. Following the EYFS curriculum, our experienced teachers spark curiosity in students and support each child’s growth into a confident, capable learner.
Developing physical skills through play Students are encouraged to be active and engaged as they build coordination, control and movement skills. Through fun, hands-on activities, they learn the value of staying physically active and making healthy food choices to support their overall well-being.
Supporting self-expression through communication
Students begin to build confidence as they learn to express themselves clearly, developing their speaking and listening skills across a variety of engaging situations.
Strengthening reading, writing and comprehension
Students develop early literacy skills by listening to stories and gradually beginning to read and write themselves. A diverse selection of stories sparks their imagination and nurtures a genuine love for language.
Making numbers fun and learning easy
In our international early years curriculum, students develop a strong understanding of numbers by counting, comparing quantities and exploring patterns. Fostering curiosity about nature and the environment

Every day at SIS International School in Penang is filled with exciting learning experiences and discoveries for your child. While timetables vary across the year groups, here’s an example of what happens in our Kindergarten.
7.30 – 7.50am
Children arrive and are warmly welcomed into class, easing into the day with calm, familiar routines and time to connect with friends.
8am – 2.40pm
The school day begins with a rich blend of play-based learning, creative exploration and guided activities that support early literacy, maths and personal development.
2.40 – 3.30pm
Optional co-curricular activities give children the chance to follow their interests - whether through music, movement, storytelling or discovery-based play.
3.30 – 3.45pm
Students finish the day with a calm and smooth transition. Staggered collection helps to ensure that they leave feeling confident and supported, ready to return feeling refreshed.
3.45 – 5pm
The optional After School Club offers a relaxed, nurturing space to wind down, continue learning through play, and enjoy time with peers.
