Straits International School Penang celebrates Deepavali with vibrant performances, cultural traditions, and community spirit.

Straits International School Penang celebrated the Festival of Lights with a joyful and meaningful Deepavali Celebration, bringing our multicultural community together in a vibrant display of culture, unity, and tradition. The event highlighted the beauty of Indian heritage while giving students across all ages the chance to learn, appreciate, and participate in one of Malaysia’s most treasured cultural celebrations.

The celebration featured colourful traditional attire, energetic performances, and festive music that filled the school with excitement. Students enjoyed classical and modern Indian dances, cultural showcases, and storytelling moments that helped them understand the values of Deepavali — light over darkness, learning over ignorance, and hope over fear.

As an international school in Penang with more than 21 nationalities represented, we believe in creating rich cultural experiences that help students grow into globally aware and empathetic young people.
